I have to go to my local GM/Chevy Dealer pretty soon n e way. I need to purchase my driver side fog light housing. I was driving home and was coming from the rural area. Out of nowhere a possum or it could of been racoon, couldn't b sure cause their was NO light's on that street, ran infront of my car as soon as i was coming. I breaked and just felt a lil bump, like a speed bump,n i noticed the next day that my fog light was missing....housing included

So when i go to the dealership, i will ask them how much the center cap's are for the 06 monte carlo SS (stock rim) n when u say "polished one" Your talkin bout the finish of the center cap or i need to polish the rim's,u have? Can u figure out how much shipping will be for area code 78244 which is for the city of San Antonio,TX.

OOO!!!! YES!!! I see wat your talking bout.
I do have a pipe very similiar to your's as well but of course not wrapped up like your's. I've actually noticed, the pipe before, and also noticed how HOT it get's.
Wat kinda material is that black thing covering the pipe? That is a very good idea...i never really thought bout doing that. THANKS!!!

ill look into shipping. im in jersey so i cant imagine that itll be cheap the wheels weigh 28 pounds each without the boxes or foam. the centers are polished. the wheels are polished so you need the polished centers to go with them. im kind of on the fence about getting rid of them now like i said before. the wrap that is used on the crossover is dei exhaust wrap. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DE...8/?image=large it can be found at advanced or pretty much any part store its cheaoer there. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/partlist_Exhaust-Heat-Shields-Wraps_N3638B_P|GRP2039P___ easy install and itll lower the underhood temps a bit.

Ya don't worry to much bout the shipping i already kno the price range it's most likly goin to b

N yes temp. under the hood is a major problem with the Monte's (SS)
When i go to the track to run my car...i have to stop,of course....after bout 3-5 runs max, depending on the line of people also running down the track. The engine get's VERY HOT and i always have to let me car sit to the side n cool off for easly 15-30 minutes.

yeah they get hot but with the hood open engine cover off should cool in a reasonable amount of time. you should also pull the driver headlight out at the track to get some cool air to the intake. they also sell a heatsoak reduction kit from vector to move the sensor. this way the iats arent so high so it doesnt pull so much timing out of the car once it gets hot. heres the link. http://www.vectormotorsports.com/ind...mart&Itemid=28

$100 for that?!

Personally though if you are doing track runs you should have that car tuned, and if it's tuned you can easily just not allow the IAT to pull the timing that it wants to pull. It really shouldn't get that hot in your intake box since it's sealed off.

Ya,that seem's like a good kit. If i do run a cold air intake instead of a short ram then i think that would be better. Because I'm not running n e box around the intake/filter @ the moment.

I am going to get get my car tuned by a place i was suggested by another chevy owner in my area and friend. That i should get a street tune and it would be around $300. I am looking for good track time such as 12's at the best after a lot of work of course not right away

But i also own a bike,so i'm kinda doing two thing's at one time lol
I don't currently have an intake box for the short ram intake. I was going to ask do they sell them online or is that a custom job that needs to be done. Or does n e one on here do them?

you can make the iat deal yourself just an easy suggestion. i dont believe it can be tuned out. i dont really think it matters if the factory airbox is sealed. hes not running it and even then its insanely hot and the air has to pass over the cross over. the iats on the car are extremely high. i believe the gxp actually gives you a read out along with trans temp. i could be wrong but ppl have logged them on the other forum and theres a big difference moving the sensor. im sure if there were an easier/cheaper way to do it while tuning it one of the guys on ls1tech would have done it by now.

I'm just goin to leave the Short Ram the way it is. I'm goin to probably get the wiring/relocater for $99.99 and run a Cold Air Intake & switch them out when it rain's,here in Texas. Even though friend's with car's that have been lowered have told me that some of had problem's but not that bad. I don't wanna risk it AT ALL LoL

Plus i don't plan on putting n e thing besides lowering springs and i HAVE too get performance shocks/struts because the stock sturts/shocks will only hold for so long. And then will become VERY bad
