New to Monte Carlos....or any domestic for that matter.
Hey everybody. I obtained a 1985 SS about a year ago. It runs ok and is not in terrible shape.
I'm finally getting the urge to start building it. I have been an import guy all my life and have been building/drag racing hondas for quite some time (let the ragging begin). Haha. But I have a deep appreciation for anything automotive no matter where its made.
With that said, I plan on doing just a light build while keeping the stock 305. Probably will settle with just bolt ons and vortec heads and cams. I'm not looking for big power by any means.
When I get back from my deployment in November I plan on putting around $4000 into it (including a paint job that I'm getting from a friend).
Im sure I'll be on here alot as like I said my knowledge of domestics is very limited.

Welcome to the forum! Who are you deployed with right now? When are you coming back? Do you have a particular car in mind already or are you going to find one when you get back? You have picked a good place to be.

WELCOME....and there's nothing wrong with Honda's IMO. You can build the hell out of them and make loads of power, and for CHEAP!! I'm positve you can contribute turbo and tuning knowledge to the forum. Be safe, dont be a Hero and lets get this Monte going when you get home..............
