New to the Monte Carlo
Hey members.....I am as you can see new to this forum. I enjoy American Muscle Cars in general but particularly the SS versions. In high school I owned a 1970 SS EL Camino then when I went into the military I sold it and at my first duty station I bought a 1979 TA. Late I bought a 1991 Z28 (5.7) and thought I was in heaven.
Currently I am working purchasing a 1985 SS Monte Carlo (11,700 miles). The seller is asking 14500, we agreed on 13500 cash. The car is in excellent condition with no rust what so ever original gator back good year tire with lots of tread left. AC was converted to 134a and blows cold.
Is this a good price? And what else should I look for. I did check VIN and it is correct.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim. For a car that age with miles that low, the price is fair. Likely has some deferred maintenance that needs to be caught up on (rubber, fluids, etc...), but with miles that low I'm sure it's got original paint that will polish up and be a sound investment.
