New member, verge on buying first monte.

I didn't get to see the inside because no one was home. From the outside neither the trunk or the hood was rusted.
I'll upload the pictures later on. Crusader what game is that you put your Monte in? It looks familiar.

Gas wise isnt too important because none of my trips (work, gym, downtown) are over 15-20 minutes. But it looks like I might be interested in this monte that I saw I think it's an 88 or 87 SS. I left my number and havent heard from them yet. If I find a better deal for a 2000 or newer SS I will do that but until then I'm waiting to hear back on this 4th gen beauty. It's all black. When I get home I will post pictures.

Welcome to the forum!
I'm a huge fan of the 4th gens. BlazedSS is correct. True 4th gen SS models are not as easy to find as you might think. There are more clones than real ones now. Many SS models were used and abused on drag strips and race tracks, and ended up on the scrap heap.
Before buying, run the VIN through the VIN decoder on this website:
http://www.compnine.com/vid.php
It will tell you what the car came with from the factory.

Sometime this week I'm going to go by again. Hopefully someone is home. I left a note at the front door and I left that I'm interested in buying the car and this was around 3 pm today. It's 9 now and no call. Weird. Maybe he refound his love for the car and cancelled. I like that specifice one but I'm not crazy about the almost 200K miles on it although the tranny has been swapped at 120K i think. The sign was wet so it wasnt fully legible. Anyone in the Massachussetts/New hampshire area that knows of a 4th gen? 86-88 SS for sale for around $3000? lil over little under wont hurt.

unfortunatelly yes. That's a little close to 4000. Which isnt too far from what I can do but by having a max of about 3200 i can have about $800 to have the car brought to inspection sticker condition and I really have my heart set on a 4th gen. Thank you for the search though. Is there any site besides craigslist that's similar? I've been hounding it like no tomorrow haha.
