New member and I need help
hi I'm Eddie 24 and own a 07 Monte LT I need help so today in class I replaced my negative cable unhooked it from the battery and starter installed the new one hooked up everything went to start it and nothing the car just clicked I thought maybe by not unhooking the positive cable it drained the battery we put a jump box on the car and it would would want to start however it would just click and die out I was wondering if its the starter that took a crap or what it could be
Starter went out on my bonneville and I could use the old hammer trick for about 2 months.
You negative connection is bad!! Either the cable is broken or the connection is not get the proper ground. This happens all the time. take it off and clean it good sand it to a bare metal at both locations and it should fire right up. Repeat until it starts.
Like I indicated before it's is then the connection itself.
Just a little FYI brand new doesn't mean anything any more.
Also test your Battery should be 12 or better to start the Car.

Welcome to MCF! Sorry to hear about your troubles. I had similar issues about six months ago, but mine would jumpstart, just wouldn't run long. Alternator crapped out. I'm crossing my fingers for you that your issue is a fuse, however I'm about as optimistic as the others who have responded....
Post up some pics of your ride when you can. We love us some Monte pics...
