New member here to learn
My name is Ryan and I own a 2001 MCSS. I bought this car because I have been in love with Montes every since I made an 86 SS my first car. The 86 was the love of my life but I decided to sell it and get the 01 when the timing chain went out and was looking to be a big expensive fix. I replaced the timing chain, oil pan gasket and pushrods. It ran well for about a week after that then started running rough. It was bending my pushrods so I figured it must have seriously messed some of the internals and didn't want the headache. Big mistake. The 01 has been nothing but problems from day 1. I had to replace catalytic converter, PCM, multiple tie rods ends, ball joint, hazard switch, factory amp, warped rotors, MAF, TPS, low coolant sensor and still need to replace the A/C compressor, ABS sensor and intake manifold gasket. I also have a presently undiagnosed issue which causes the car to run very rough and run at unstable idle speeds before stalling out. Beyond this car however I am still in love with the Monte Carlo brand and would like to get another 86 and a 72. I'm hoping to learn a lot from fellow members who share the same passion I do for this car.
