Car: Monte Carlo LS 3.4l LA1
Story: I owned the car for almost two years now, but never did care about cars(probably cause I didn't know anything) before the end of this summer in July. I started wanting to learn as much about car's performance, and repairs after a feeling of being ripped off by a local shop. Before, all I thought about cars, were you get in, shift to drive and drive till the point you need to refill gas, and to get an oil change ever 3k, and to have shops look for problems. But now I just want to learn as much as I can.(Although I still don't know how to do anything yet except maintaining the interior and exterior, all I can do now is to research and ask friends). I go to college everyday, and work everyday, but I think I learned a bit with the time I spent researching. Hopefully the semester ends soon and I could focus on the car more(Like learn to remove and replace or switch a wheel)
Here is the car when I bought it off Tom Clarks dealership:

Here is the car now:

Air Intake I got from ebay Before:

Air Intake Nowyea no covers, but I doubt a cover is going to change much, the intake itself probably only gained like 5-9hp if I'm Lucky)

Future MODS That I have in hand but dunno how to install yet:
Like New Rims and Tires (18" moda md2 with Kumho LX Platinums 245/45ZR18 with 3k)

Pilot Sc-111 front seat covers(just got these today)
Hid-look Halogens 9006 and 9005, (too cold to even plan to do this one)
SS Emblem set(planning to only use the red bowtie, trunk Black monte carlo, and 2 side monte carlo, but still having trouble putting double sided tape)
WANTED MODS
Wanted an 2.5" dual exhaust system(500-800) with headers(500), but that would cost like 1000+ so I'm going to save up money
Also Wanted a Supercharger, but all kits are discontinued so maybe a turbo, but I still plan on looking around for that instant power response.
I ALSO wanted to upgrade my cluster:

Well Tell me what you think, and maybe give me hints and clues on what to do, and everything is appreciated.

Thanks, for now I just want to upgrade as much as possible so I probably will ask for help a lot , till I need to worry about maintenance and repairs. I did get the haynes manual(only read like 4 pages, don't have much of a clue of where to start), but ONE PROB: I still need a tool set and jack, lol.

Welcome to the MCF family. We have many college students as part of our family, and as said, many members from PA.
Question: It appears you have a chrome intake cover in the 1 pic covering the cone, but not the other pic? Am I right?

Welcome welcome That's a very nice looking Monte you got there.

As you start to read more about intakes, you might want to start building a cover for that filter so you don't suck up all the engine's HOT air. That will actually rob the car of valuable power that you would get from having cold air. The throttle response is better with a cone filter like that, so you might be mistaking that for HP.

But yes, how many miles

Welcome...

As everyone else says, get a box on that intake filter!

It appears that you had a stand up spoiler put on! Looks good!

Your Monte looks awesome!
