Just down the road! Well, compared to most others on the Forum. Just over an hour from me (a little southeast of Huntsville). I've not been to Flat Rock, but I've been nearby. Beautiful area.

Haven't heard of rod run. When / where is it held? Doesn't seem to be many good old car shows around here. Either that or I'm just too busy / distracted to hear about them.

FYI... I have a few old cars that take up my time, but no classic American muscle like yours. My daughter drives a '73 Mercedes 220. My son had been driving an '86 Jaguar XJ6 that I got back in good running condition (getting ready to sell it). And my old car is a '90 Jag XJS (5.3L V12) that I use whenever weather conditions preclude riding. I commute on two wheels most days. I maintain them myself to the extent possible, but get help from a great local mechanic when I'm in over my head.

Why sell the Galaxie? Even though this is a Monte Carlo site there is lots of love for things non Chevy here. This is a great site and welcome. I look forward to hearing more about your Monte and your Galaxie. I own lots of cars and one of them is a 67 Thunderbird also with a 390. It needs a full restoration. I parked it 13 years ago and brought it to Florida because it doesn't hold oil pressure. I'm in central Florida. There are lots of shows and cruises here all the time.
