Welcome to the site.
Now that is a nice SS.
Is it original paint. So many of the 86 and 87 had paint checking, especially the silver ones.

Where will you get it painted? And I'd also like to know what "paint checking" is...

I will probably get it painted at a small body shop in the town i live in. It was painted about 4 years ago and then i had it done at Peach auto body. Worst experience ever! They literally had it all summer long. Everytime they told us it was "Done" and to come pick it up, there was always something wrong. Like the first time they pulled that, we went there and the car was completely silver, no black trim painted what soever. We left told them to try again.

And that happened over and over with other stuff. Was in highschool at the time and the weekend before school started back, someone was supposed to let us in and get the car, he never showed, after an hour and a half i "let" myself in the back door with a boxcutter and drove my car out of the shop. The next day voice-mails were hilarious. "Uhh Mr. Baker, do you have your car? Cause' we dont have it anymore..."

Did not mean to turn this into a rant (when you type stuff out its looks alot longer than it was in your head) but beware of who you deal with in auto work!
