New Member with 1984 Monte Carlo
Greetings from Virginia Beach. I have a daily driver 1984 G-code standard MC with a 305 V8 automatic. I had it repainted factory blue but added a few silver metal flakes to the paint. I still need to do the interior, but am making progress on weather seals and such. Due to leaks, miles and age, got Jasper remanufactured engine and transmission 4 years ago, which has worked out well. I've kept it all stock except omitting the badges after repaint for a cleaner look. It had some pretty bad pitted surface rust on the hood, roof and trunk when I bought in in 2000, but the body shop did a great job killing the rust, and despite the pitting, their work still looks nice seven years later. Got a few bubbles now, and I dinged a door, so I will be repainting (same color again) before long. I will post a few photos once I figure out how to do it.
it's been a very reliable daily driver, even making the trip from DC to Virginia Beach (200 miles) every couple of weeks for five years, year-round when I was stationed in DC.

Pics of the 84 Monte Carlo
Here are a few pics for those who enjoy old school. Definitely not a show quality MC, but I enjoy it as a presentable daily driver, and now that she's turned 25, I'm resuming work to make her nicer.
Kid Space, I'm coming up on my 28th year in the Coast Guard (active duty), and am seriously considering making a career of it. I've had a lot of fun, but this tour is my last one before retiring. Thanks for your comments, it's nice to be appreciated (as I appreciate those overseas doing tougher work than I am here at the Beach).

Thanks for the help and the welcome
Thanks to all for the welcome and the advice, and nice 06 you got there, Mamonte. Great color, too. We bought an old Victorian house in rural AL and will divide our time between the two places for a while, then sell the VaBch place a few years out. Probably do some security management consulting and still trying to get the voice-over business off the ground. And of course tinker with cars--next one will be a 1950 Stude Bulletnose V8/Auto.
