Default New to me 2002 SS Monte

Hey gang new member here! just wanted to say waz up!
Always loved the Monte and been a Earnhardt fan for ever!
Im in the Houston, Tx. area and just aquired my first Monte Carlo.
its a 2 owner 2002 Torch Red SS 130,000 mi.
bough the car for my 16 yo son at a $5800 sugested price (actualy a trade).
Car is super super clean being adult owned for all of its life.
im doing shake down on it now.
Ive been using the site to chase small issues
Dam coolant light and now the ignition key no power to accesories issue.
Im no strainger to high mile chevys as we hade an Avalanche, a 97 Camaro 30th anv. ss and a newer Pontiac G8 GT.

So far seems like a great site ! I hope to add to the already emence amount of benificial info that can be found here.

Ill see if I can up load some pics of the new ride affectionaly named Scarlett.

to the forum!

If the coolant level is perfectly fine, most likely it is just the sensor is dirty or gunked up. You can actually just unplug that sensor (passenger side, under the radiator cap) and the light will never come back on. Or you can buy a new sensor, swap it out, and put back the little coolant that fell out.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Good to know you have other chevrolets and know they all tend to have their own quirks. Overall the Monte carlo's are unique and decent cars to own. WELCOME!!
