Default NEW TO MCF

JUST GOT MY FIRST MONTE! SHE'S A 2004 SUPERCHARGED SS AND I LOVE IT!!!! I WAS WONDERING WHAT MY FIRST MOD SHOULD BE? I WANT TO START SMALL, AND GET THE MOST HORSEPOWER FOR MY BUCK. ALSO I SEE THAT SOME OF YOU PUT FLOWMASTERS MUFFLERS ON. HOW DO THEY SOUND WITH THE 3.8 L? ANY HELP OR ADVISE WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS

hey, welcome to the site


first mod's i would do on your car is

u-bend delete
resonator delete
high flow cat ----these 3 are all in one shot, should gain you lots of power


then a cold air intake ---these 2 mods will get you the most bang for the buck

THANKS, FOR THE INFO. NOW, THIS IS MY FIRST FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CAR I EVER OWEND. I ONLY HAD CAMARO'S NOVA'S, SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT SOME OF THESE THINGS ARE,SO WHAT IS A U-BEND DELETE? I NEAVER HEARD OF IT BE FOR. ALSO, IS THERE ANY CAT BACK SYSTEMS OUT THERE FOR THESE? LIKE MAGNAFLOW, BORLA? THANKS FOR THE INFO, STILL TRYING TO UP-LOAD A PICTURE, I FALLOWED THE DIRECTIONS, AND IT SAID UPLOAD WAS DONE BUT DID NOT POST. I'M GOING TO TRY AGAIN NOW. THANKS EVERYONE.

UPLOAD WORK THIS TIME. A LITTLE ABOUT THE CAR, IT HAS 21,000 MILES ON IT, EBONYLEATHER, POWER HEATED SEATS. POWER SUNROOF,17 INCH RIMS, HEATED POWER MIRRORS, PREMIUM SOUND SYSTEM W/200 WATT AMP, DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER AND THE 293:1 AXLE RATIO. HOPE YOU ALL LIKE HER. THE OTHER CAR IS A 1992 25TH ANNIVERSARY CAMARO Z28

Welcome! great pic, I would love to have a Monte and a Camaro.

And I'm sorry, but am I the only one bothered by posts in all caps?? It seems a bit hard to read, and usually implies "yelling" on forums.

The U bend is a bend in the exhaust near the cat that was put there to protect the 02 sensor. Its either before or after the cat, I cant remember, but its obvious once you see it. It almost looks like they smashed part of the pipe and bent it into a U. It restricts exhaust flow alot. Just get an exhaust shop to weld in a piece of 2.5" tubing in its place.
