Well unfortunately the General did it to us Monte lovers again by stopping production on the Monte Carlo as of june, 2007.
Some say it was Nascar persuading GM to stop making the Monte so they could run the Impala in Nascar. And of course the falling sales numbers didn't help but what do you expect when they didn't even advertise them for some time?
Did you know the Vette outsold the Monte Carlo? does that mean our Montes will one day be worth more then a Vette as far as resale goes?

It would be nice if they were worth more than a Vette some day. But the way I see it, the Vette also outsold the Buick Skyhawk (a re-badged Cavalier from the early 80's). I don't see them worth anything. Come to think of it, I haven't seen one since the 80's.
Ah, don't let that get you down. Look at the Chevette. There aren't any left. [sm=icon_rofl.gif]
Every car maker makes a mistake or two (or three) every now and then.
But the Monte being a mistake.......... NEVER!!!

I wasn't calling the Monte a mistake. The Monte Carlo was always a popular car. I was referring to the Skyhawk not being worth a significant amount of money. Just because a car doesn't sell well, doesn't always make it a collector's item. Personally, I hope the Monte does become a collector's item. Seeing as how I own one and all.
has anyone had problems with the color silver not staying on there car? the reason i ask is because ive had family members with silver cars and the paint and clear comes off? just wondering if anyone had this problem?
I've known a few people to have the flaking paint problem with white cars, and one red one. But they were all Chrysler vehicles from the early to mid 90's. I don't recall ever seeing a silver one losing it's paint.
ok cool thanks, and heres a link to ebay decided to put my truck on there so tell your friends. cant wait to get a ss, cant decide between maroon, silver black and the metallic blue.
