Default New Here! Purchased 2005 Monte Carlo SS Tony Stewart edition..Having a problem..Help!

Hello everyone!!

I just purchased a 05 Monte SS about 3 weeks ago and this past week it has been stalling out on me...it happens when I am coming to a stop or when I am at a stopped postion about to accelerate.
The person purchased it from was using regular 87 gas & since I have had it I've been using Premium, I replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump & air filter, there was no check engine light untill I replaced the Fuel pump.... but I have no idea what could be causing this.......Any Ideas?

Did you get the actual check engine code#?

Ya, it says gas cap. I havent replaced it yet.

maybe the fuel pump is improperly installed, causing a huge air leak at the tank. Do you smell fuel when the tank is completely filled?

I dont smell fuel & it only happens once in the morning after the car has been sitting overnight & once in the evening after I leave work, and once it dies out and restarts it's fine

So it only happens after the car has been sitting a while?

Take out the IAC valve & clean it up/lubricate with wd-40 or something. I just had the same problem.
