Default New guy from Oklahoma

Hi guys names Edwin I just got into a 04 Monte carlo intimidator SS with 139xxx miles I wanted to know what oil I need to put in to help it run a healthy and long life and I seem to have a problem with the two cigarette lighter ports as neither charger my phone, I have replaced all blown fuses on both driver and passenger side fuse boxes also any good exhaust for the v6 3.8 supercharged? I'm planning on getting K&N if yall have any questions just ask!

Welcome to the forum.

Off chance your cigarette lighters themselves could be uechered. I know the fuses are on opposite sides for the front and the back, so if they have been changed, in theory they should be working, so next test is the lighter sockets themselves.

For oil, I run synthetic in my car and have no issues, it is more expensive but you can go longer between changes so it kind of even's out.

Save your money on the K&N and get a wizaired cold air induction from zzperformance.com, they seem to be the air induction of choice among the forum members, and come with a nice enclosed air box so you are not getting the hot engine air going in, the K&N's do not do this.

Exhaust, well that is a common issue on here as well, lol, a zzp downpipe is a great addition to your exhaust with a high flow cat, it may throw a cel code, so be prepared, but that can be tuned out, and there are members here on the forum that can do that for you, or you can order a new pcm from zzp, overkill, and other companies, I personally have my pcm tuned by Will @overkill and love it, but I am certain all tunes are great from what I've read. I believe the supercharged vehicles have the 3 inch exhaust on them (I could be mistaken, but I believe I am right) and to be honest, mufflers don't give our cars that much of a horsepower gain, it is mostly for sound here is a link to a general mod guide for our cars that will give you a lot of insight on how to mod your car for your wants and needs

best of luck with your car and again welcome to the forum

Edwin:
Welcome to the forum..
DO NOT use a K&N cai system... The oil in the filters contaminate the MAF thus causing runability issues.
Get one from CAI Inductions.. www.coldairinductions.com
They work the best. especially for our Monte Carlo's

Thanks for joining the MCF Family!

Are my coil shocks suppose to be so close to my tires? Like 1/2-1 inch above them?
