about the friend... He didn't know anything about it until I saw the car in his driveway and asked where and when he bought it...
We have dealers here, Andy Mohr - i think they have about 8 locations, but I was looking for a good price on an 06 or 07. I was dealing with a salesman at the location out west (in indy). He didn't have anything nice in inventory at the time so I continued to search, went online to another location and they had a Red 06, lt.... 75k miles, everything but leather seats and premium wheels, and they were asking $9.2k. I told the salesman about it since he "really wanted to help me in my situation" (another long story, had a car literally stolen while out of town - police found burnt to a crisp when i returned)
He said he would see if he could transfer the car between lots. He called me back, said he was having it delivered for me, he did my credit app, got me approved for that car and they just had to clean it up so I could come in and leave out with it. Called him 2 days straight after that, he "wasn't at work" and I couldn't deal with anyone else since he already had everything wrote up... I didn't understand that but ok, I'm already approved, I can wait another day. I give him another call to find out he brought over some more vehicles for me to look at, some older vehicles, with more miles, and higher price. What the ...
I told him, I wanted the car I asked for and got approved for in the first place, then he told me he SOLD it the day before. *HANG UP* pissed
While someone had to pick me up from work and drop me off at home, I saw the exact same car, in my neighborhood at my friend's house so I thought I would just ask, and sure enough, he went to the dealership I HAD THE CAR SENT TO, and bought it, ------> cash
