Hi Bill & Welcome to the MCF
It was great to read your post, & see that you've
had over 100K reliable miles in your
2001 Monte Carlo.
How often do you change oil ?
Besides basic maintenance, are there any other
problems that you've had with your Monte ?
Look forward to your future posts & we
wish you another care free 100k + miles
in your Monte.
Safe/Happy miles to you.

Well i stumbled across this site and I must say I wish I found it sooner. I've always wanted a monte and regret never buying one and since I got my license I have wanted one. Love monte carlo since I've been alive, only 24 years, except for the 90's era of them. 2-door lumina is all i have to say. If no one likes that last remark then oh well its my opinion. I guess i should give Chevy some credit on keeping it around. Well any ways I am in the market for a Monte and really want a new SS but my life right now can't justify a brand new one but maybe i can get in on the early 2000's. Hope to get one soon and post it for all to see.
454, thanks for your comments. I had a 95 Beretta, and would have preferred to wait to get the Monte, but the budget wouldn't allow it. While GM might not have had the styling all there at the time, it was still a pretty good car, for being a mid-level coupe in a highly price-driven market.
If you think about it like that, however, my 2006 3LT monte is nothing more than a 2-door Impala, right? The only difference from the Impala, if I am not mistaken, is the fog light housings. Headlights and upper grille are all basically identical. That's why my car doesn't get much attention, yet. Many more heads turned when I had the Red 03 LS with that very unique front end, in such an attention-grabbing color.
Myself, I see many differences in the 3LT Monte from the Impala. The 3.9 in this car has a bit more power, and I really do prefer the front end of the Monte, being only the slight differences that there is.
But we're glad to have you around, Monte or not.

Hey thanks for the welcome. I should've posted this in the first one but the reason i cant afford a monte now is cause back in 04 i bought an intrepid sxt and about 8 months ago it was wrecked in an accident by a state trooper, all his fault too, and I didnt have it payed off and needed another car so i bought a 01 regal ls, nice car btw 3800 bullet proof motor, and so my money was going to the intrepid and the regal as well as other bills so i hope to get a monte in november once my probation is up at my new job. So if not in a couple of weeks then hopefully Ill have pics in november. Again thanks for the warm welcome.
It's a bit late, but...Welcome to the Official Unofficial Monte Carlo Forum. We are a dedicated *****-Free zone, so no need to worry about flaming. We are like a family here, so kick off your shoes (unless your feet smell! [8D]) and contribute as much as you can.
I know how you feel about the wreck, 454...I actually got my Monte because my 2003 Cavalier (yeah, I know...it was a good value, though) was wrecked by another driver. WhenI found out that I needed to find a new car, I saw my guy at the Chevy dealership and he pointed me in the direction of a shiny new 2005 Monte Carlo LT, the love affair began and I haven't looked back since.
