Default New guy from delaware

Hey guys, just signed up b/c the family owns a monte carlo and I love them and would love to build ours up. We have had our 85 monte carlo ss since 1986 and I hope we keep it for a very long time to come. The car is mostly stock, the only thing that I can recall that isnt stock is the paint. the paint was redone when my brother was 16 and got it for his first car 9 yrs ago.

And also to keep the GM trend going, I own a 93 s10 that we swapped a 95 z28 lt1/t56 in it. That is my DD as much as I can and project the least amount of time, lol. Anyways, any questions let me know....Now heres the pics!

Now to the monte!

and heres a video. I am not sure how it sounds, my computer speakers are broke. But this is a video showing the issue its got. fuel pressure stays up at 60psi idle, while idle is at about 2k. Let me know if the video sucks sound quality, lol

Well thats it, hope you all enjoy!

Welcome to the site.

I am not 100% familiar with the early Montes but if memory serves me correct didn't they have a computerized carb? If so I would look to see if you have a vacuum leak. Maybe a hose has a crack in it etc that is causing the computer to "freak out" and have a higher idle because of the vacuum leak. Just a suggestion.

Anyways nice rides.

Thanks guys. It very well may be a vaccum hose....everything under teh hood except the battery and the airfilter looks completely stock, lol. So they might be the vacum lnes from 85 for all i know.

But i hope to land a good job soon so i can purchase this off my dad ad call it mine. If i did, these would be the plans i would have

-mild built 350sbc....maybe 300crank hp/tq
-8.5 rear with posi and 3.73 gears
-reman'd 200r4
-some dress up engine parts
-some how if possible to reroute some hoses to clean up the engine bay.
-16 or 17inch wheels
-cowl hood
-replace stock duals with new duals
