if you decide to change to aftermarket radio later... i would mount the stock radio in the trunk cause you going to need it to reset tire pressure, oil, ..ect, ..ect. i tried to reset it manually and it never work for me.

If we do replace the head unit, i'm going to try the manual routes to reset the oil life and tire monitor. the convenience features wont be changing once they've been set. if it doesnt work, it doesnt work and i have to rethink things. i am guessing that even if i replace it with the GM nav unit i will still not be able to control those things through the radio. I think the radio has to have that stuff built into it's logic.

this is what i done on mine. i have after market head unit now and got this harness that plug in the after market unit and snake it through the car and everytime i need to reset something i plug in the factory radio. i didn't want to mount the radio in the trunk and have it on at all time that's why i done mine this way. the harness cost like $100 got it like 3 years ago.

100 bucks seems expensive when you wouldn't need it permanently in the trunk. I can fab up my own y harness for way less! The connectors and pins would be under $15

Welcome. I'm from Northwest Indiana, so I'm basically in the burbs of Chicago.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the silver ground effects, but I must say, because of the color of your Monte, it realy looks sharp.

yeah, i hear ya. the red and or/black with the silver wasnt too pleasing to me/us, but the med. grey/silver looks pretty sharp. would also have liked a blue/silver, but none of those to be found when we were looking.

LOL!!! Of all the people to call us out on it, it has to be you.

It's just a personal preference. I just like the cleaner look of an all solid color.
