Default New guy.

Hello all.
Monte Carlos have been in my family for years now. Dad owned a black 87 SS, then had to get rid of it for a more "family" oriented car....so he traded it in for a mini van..
Fast forward. My first car I bought from my boss 2 years ago. Was a 1997 LS. Great car, however it was showing its age. Had about 123K on the clock when I bought it. Even though I loved the car, it didn't meet my needs as something that can go the distance I wanted it to. (I travel quite a lot to Canada and back. 13hr trip one way non-stop) so I needed to find something that had lower miles.
Had an idea for 3 cars. Stay with the Monte...just a newer year or much lesser miles, an Impala, or a Crown Vic.

Couldn't find any Montes for sale at the time around here, and while driving past a car lot.....I saw the love I have now. A 2004 Impala SS.

In some time, I may go back to the Monte Carlo name and family. The misses loves the Imp so she might get it when I pay it off. So I'm in the grounds of looking for an 06+ Monte SS, or possibly another 04-05 Imp SS.

Arrow Welcome to the MCF

Hi Spector, and Welcome to the MCF
Where are your from ?
Tell us more about your 04 Impala SS, and post some
pictures.
I can understand the needs of a family for 4-doors vehicles,
but I prefer 2 doors
There are some great deals on Monte Carlo's, & all cars
in todays depressed market.
Wish you good luck on getting a 06 Monte SS.
Look forward to your future posts.
Good Luck from `Space

I'm from northern VA. About an hour south from DC. The Imp is right now still bone stock, minus the SLP grille I just installed. Everything is still in the planning stage. This summer I'll be getting tint, and sometime soon I'll be getting a CAI. Starting off with small mods. Not to sure if I'd continue so I can drop a pulley size on the supercharger though.

I'll be sure to get some pictures and everything up soon.

Welcome, and what color is the impala? you could make the Imp into one hell of a sleeper with the right funds.

The Imp is black. I wish I could turn it into a sleeper, trying to keep it as stock looking as I can.
Even when I get a new exhaust set up, the stock tips are staying on...if possible.

Thanks for the welcome too. I just uploaded afew pictures in the albums.

I really like your Impala man. The 00-05 Impala SS models here in South Carolina are very scarce. I honestly didn't know they made an SS for that model until a couple months ago when I saw one, I even had to do a double-take because I thought I was seeing things.

2004 impala SS is a VERY nice car.

My sister has the LE Indy version. Which I may buy off of her when she's done paying it off... she's not that into it for some reason.

Congrats on your purchase. Remember it's just a 4-door Monte so stick around
