New to Forum W/1995 Monte LS
Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum and am an owner of a 1995 Monte Carlo LS. I bought it About a year ago when I had to sell my 1986 Caprice Coupe due to high mileage. (185000) I really like the car a lot but I am looking for any tips to extend the life of this vehicle, as I use it for commuting to work clocking around 70 miles per day. I am religious about oil changes and have recently serviced the transmission and replaced the spark plugs, wires, alternator and tires. I have a lot of experience with Auto repair and have owned many Chevrolet Vehicles, but this is my first front-wheel drive and am not sure if there are any other maintenance items I am missing....Any information on what I can look to do in regards to maintenance would be very helpful...Also, I have hear a "clunking" sound in the right rear, I have looked back there but cannot find anything that appears "loose" in the rear....any ideas?
Look Forward to hearing from you all.

Oh, sorry, I am from Woodbridge NJ, I purchased the car last September with 95000 miles on it now I have approximately 115000 miles. I do need to replace the rotors, does anyone know what size torx bit is needed to get the caliper bracket off??? (I have to go out and get one, It seems that I have every tool but that large torx!)
Look forward to hearing from everyone....

you rang? welcome to the forum, lenny. sounds like you got a good buy on your car, a 95 with less than 100k on the clock is hard to come by!
sounds like you know what needs to be done to properly maintain a vehicle, 180k is alot for a caprece, too. routine maintaince is not to horrible on a 3.1 car, the biggest pita for me was the plugs / wires & now doing my o2 sensor.... anyways, i would say to do a complete tune up, just to be safe.... a new fuel filter, air filter, pcv.... they are all cheep as for the clunking, check the wheel lugs are not loose, it could be a suspention bushing as well....

Welcome to the forum man.
Nice to see another 5th Genner here. As for the torx bit for the calipers, i believe its a 60. You can find them on any auto parts place.
So your from WoodBridge huh. I used to live there years ago. On Main St near Fulton. Right next to the train tracks. I lived there around 2000, them moved to Flemington in 2001 ( yea, i was there when the towers fell ). I hope the Info i gave you helps with the brakes.
