Hello, folks. I'm surprised I didn't join a long time ago. My name's Dana Thomas from Connecticut. I have owned several Monte Carlo SS's over the last almost thirty years (an '84 and an '88) and still have my 1987 Monte SS Aerocoupe with 58,000 miles that I bought in 1996 as a bank repo. My girlfriend bought a 2000 Monte SS over the winter with just a little over 83,000 miles with no rust, no rot, very clean nice looking and running car, and dark hunter green. From what we can tell it was owned by an older couple who are snowbirds. It's easily noticeable it was kept in a garage due to the faded white scrapes on the mirrors that have since been taken care of. I've had a few issues over the years with the Aerocoupe but nothing major as it sits away during the winter months. The 2000 SS is a daily driver that goes about ten miles a day five days a week. Other than an occasional "Sunday drive" or a trip to see my kids or parents, it's pretty much parked along with my Aero. My '88 Chevy 1500 shortbed pickup is pretty much the workhorse for us. I do have a radio issue with the '00 that none of the fixes here have helped of which I'll explain in another thread. Thanks, guys.......
