Ok, so here it is. I am new to the forum, but have been reading the posts in here for some time now and have seen everybody throwing out really great ideas for other people. I have a 2006 MC SS and have many plans for it, but as for now, I would like to see what everyone else thinks, and see what kind of ideas are floating around out there.

I want to go with an all black theme, as I have a classic impala with chrome all over it. I want a new grill, brighter headlights, black rims (i might just paint the stock ones) and upgraded brakes. I have already tinted the windows and put a system in the trunk. Let me know what you think you might add, or change to my plans.

Well come to the forum. Alot of good guys and gals here. I hope you enjoy this forum as it`s done wonders for me as far as learning things about my Monte`s. You got a great looking car by the way.

 

alot of people like the "murdered out" look..personally not my favorite but i do really like the look when they r drivin...and welcome to MCF!

 

welcome to the MCF...That is a very sharp car. I really like the MC SS...If you have the money, you may as well just get a set of painted rims and keep the stock ones as they are. That's just my opinion. ) Keep us updated on your progress!

 

Welcome! Sounds good but personally I'm not a fan of black rims (with certain exceptions) because you cannot see what they look like unless you have perfect lighting, and then in every other situation, they can end up looking like steelies. Also, I think it would be a shame to paint the stock ones black since I like those SS rims so much. BUt if that's how you decide to go, I'd have them powdercoated, a little more expensive but it will look better and last for the lifetime of the car.

 

I cant help thinking that they make those rims in a dark charcoal color already. I think I have seen them on slowbalts. A set of those wouldnt look to bad on your car.

 

In '05 the Cobalts DID have painted rims similar to those found on Impala and Monte SS's...However, I believe GM discontinued the painted and just put shiny aluminum rims on them. M/C SS and Impala SS never had the charcoal painted rims. I'm pretty sure. The Cobalt's rims had a thick center with thinner spokes, whereas the MC rims are all thick. They were very similar though.

sup guys? well i just got an 06 monte carlo and have already ordered the luminics krypton titanium white headlights for it. but i'd like to put black racing stripes on it i just don't know where to look for them and how much it'll cost me. anyone have any estimates for me??
