Default New Driver

Hey all I just bought my first car and what better than a Monte Carlo? Granted its not the good looking year (the ugliest I think) Its a 1998 LS. I payed about $1600 and has no rust and a few scratches. Have replaced the air filter, water pump, tail lights, turn signal switch( what a b*tch). I just bought some Ultra rims for it and had to buy some new lug nuts because of the short studs. I plan on doing things to make it look realitivly exceptable such as the RK Sport body kit, small lip spoiler, head light and tail light covers, new stereo and subs, window tints, and am looking for any kind of performance that will fit the 3.1 LS model. I'd rather wait to put up to pictures of it untill I get it mostly finished unless you want to see it.

Welcome to the forum!
Congrats on your first car. Any year of Monte is a good looking year in my book. Your 1998 Monte Carlo is part of the 5th generation of Montes. Some people give them a hard time, but most of us here love `em. Myself included. What color is your car?

Your plans sound great. The RKSport body kit is a nice looking bolt-on. Not too over the top. My advice is to save up your money and do mods the way you really want `em. Don`t half-a$$ the job because your in a hurry to get everything done as fast as possible. Make it a car you`ll be proud to say, "I did that".

Oh yeah, pics are always a plus. For easier posting of pics on this site, I would suggest creating an account on a free photo hosting site like Cardomain or Photobucket for example. Upload your pics to their site, and simply link them into your posts from there using the little yellow icon above the area where you type. There are severe size limitations on pics uploaded directly to this site. The site's operating system only allows pics to be 250k per post. However if you link your pics from another site (like Photobucket for example), your pics can be as big as you like.

Thanks for the greeting, I'm really active on another forum (www.airsoftohio.com) my other money pit. But my car is now my first priority. I got a small green interior neon tube tucked up and away. I might get pics of it in the dark tonight, and also replaced the glove box bulb with a red one. I couldnt decide which color I wanted so I'm trying both and can always switch one or the other out. I will prolly buy the light covers this month then the spoiler then what ever I think it needs. In the summer I was thinking a dark black metallic or gloss. Any input or ideas is welcome.

Well I snapped some pics after school today when the rain was letting up.

I took some pictures of the few interior lights I put in. I can't decide wether to put a green or red LED bulb in the trunk, or get green or red LED/ neon tubes.

Hey CT, welcome! I say there's no such thing as an ugly Monte Carlo. Your 98 LS is just gonna look insane when you get finished with your plans, looks good already as is!

Thanks. What do you think red or green lights for the car? It was a pain in the *** to put in the bulb and I can get a new neon tube for cheap.
