Fuel Pressure Regulator???

It's right up front near the valve cover. Pull the vacuum line off the FPR and if you smell gas it is bad.

When you changed the plugs were they black? Any black smoke from the exhaust? Does the oil smell like gas? These are all symptoms of a bad fuel pressure regulator like Chibi said. A regulator is about $60 so it may be worth trying first before you take it in.

I had a problem similar to this but not quite as bad. Any chance your battery terminals are highly corroded? Mine were bad enough that a bump would turn my car off and it would lose connection from the battery. Hopefully you get it fixed!

I would try your Mass Airflow sensor, it could be flooding your engine or not giving it enough gas. Just a thought. Mine did the same thing and it was that.

Welcome!!

It's a long shot but what about the Throttle Position sensor? That's one of the few things you haven't mentioned changing yet.

thx all for the welcome....@supplysgt I'll try the throttle too just to make sure. I'm going to check on the Fuel Regulator first, because I've been reading up on it and it seems like thats what it is so, hey im taking one step at a time!
