Default Love my new Monte Carlo SS

hi

my name is joe. im a broadcast engineer.

I just got an all black leather clad 2004 monte carlo ss a week ago and have already put 400 miles on it. it had about 47000 on it.

I have been wanting one for about 8 years and boy am i amazed.

I have been enjoying reading from everyone and all of your efforts are really valuable to me.

I used to have a 85 ummm errr daytona with a blow drier and it was fun when it worked. monte is way way way better!

... and so the mystery begins.....

there are no markings other than the SS on the right side of the trunk. the vin proves its an ss. i havent been under it yet to look for any obvious signs that it was wrecked and re painted.

it also appears no one has ever been in the front passenger or rear seats.

there is a remote "head" to a "valentine 1" detector behind the clear plastic under the tach next to the little color display.

2 screw holes on the right side of the dash near the radio like maybe an xm head was there.

i think it has the original tires on it. two of the wheels have been ground against a curb somewhere.

its got a few leaf pattern spots in the clear coat and some tiny spots where rust has popped through. the right corner of the rear bumper is cracked looking like it got a love tap.

appears to have been driven only 5000 miles a year. i thought maybe the owner was in the service.

Hi `Joe & Welcome to the Monte Carlo Family

It sounds like you found a nice/low miled S.S.
If you got it from a dealer (?) Ask them if they can get you a CarFax report or a Auto Check to get the history on your Monte S.S. It will reflect the purchase date (in service) & how many owners (or if there were any accidents reported).

Look forward to seeing some pictures & reading more about your new to you Chevy Monte Carlo S.S.

thank you all for the welcome!

the power steering pump is whining, so im thinking of having all the hoses and belts replaced while they are under there and maybe pulling the trigger on some minor suspension changes.
