Looking to buy...What should I look for?
 

Hello, everybody!

I just signed up because I am looking at buying a 2003 Monte SS and I want to see if I can get a feel for some of the really common problems with these cars. I had an 02 Grand Prix GT before this, so I have had the great 3800 motor before (until I blew a head gasket and realized the car wasn't worth it :(), but I still want to know what I should look for when I go see this car. It has 151000 miles on it and I need something to last me through college (~3 more years...), so I will appreciate any suggestions you guys have!!

Also, how are these in the winter?? I live in W. Michigan, so we get a lot of snow...

If you've had a GP GT it's pretty much identical to a 03 Monte SS, same every thing except the obvious body/interior looks. But most common issues here are (not in order): transmission, axles, wheel hubs, coolant elbows and evap leaks.
