Hmmm, I could have sworn that I posted in this thread yesterday but I guess I musta screwed that up.

Anyways, here was the jist of my original post:
Congrats on the Intimdator purchase. There are a bunch of us with them on this forum and the number seems to be increasing.
We should see if the forum software will support a sub-group for us.

i did have a couple questions if you guys don't mind. he didn't know much about the specs for the car i.e. horsepower, supercharger, etc... i know i should put at least 89 octane gasoline in it, but is there anything i should know? i appreciate any input thanks!
When GM says premium unleaded, they mean at least 91 octane.
However, you should probably run the highest octane you can get (well, c16 race gas is overkill, but 93 is good or use 94 if you can get it).
These engines may have some detonation on even 93 octane so don't take your chances with low octane gasoline.

You can run pretty much any tires that you want as long as they fit the wheels. You don't have to run z rated tires, but a tire with good traction is good to help you harness the power that your engine is putting down (oh, and if the car has the stock goodyear eagle rs-a's, you may want to consider replacing them sooner than later. I'm sure most people will agree that they aren't the greatest tires.)

The stock specs for the L67 (supercharged 3.8L V6) are 240hp and 280ft/lbs of torque, and the factory estimated gas mileage is 18 city/ 28 highway. The supercharger is an Eaton generation 3 M90 roots style supercharger.
Oh, and these cars are hella fun to drive. That's the most important thing to know.

Since these engines have been used in various cars since 1996, there are a lot of aftermarket modifications available if you're into that kinda thing. Do a search for L67 on here, or on google and you'll find some good stuff. There are also a couple of other good forums that are more oriented towards the engine performance.

Most importantly, be safe and have fun!

Don't hesitate to ask questions, we're here to help.

Thats awesome, with 12000 miles it had to be a garage queen. Sounds like a great purchase and best of luck with it!!

Welcome Mikhail to the MCF from another Intimidator SS owner. There are several of us here that own these Bad "Boys". That's right, don't call it a "she" as Dale will frown on you from above, and you do NOT want that happening, right?

TONS you can do to these motors. I'm at about 315 BHP, and still all stock inside. Don't waste any time. Put a "cold air intake" on him NOW! It's worth 2 mpg, and 10-15 BHP.

As far as the warranty, that's a coin toss. There are several things that will happen, but with only 12,000 miles on him, WOW! You got a GREAT car.

Enjoy him! Let's see some pics.

hey guys thanks a bunch for all the positive info

riggs - thanks a bunch man i am gonna put the right gas in him now hahha. what oil do you use? he could probably use an oil change since the guy said he hadn't been driven very much lately... i want him to be in tip top shape! i am gonna look at some aftermarket stuff because i would like to increase my gas mileage and horsepower (obviously!). if you ever wanna chat i have msn (mikhail_tomasovic@hotmail.com) and i have aim also (strtthgn504). that goes for all guys/gals on the forums, not just for us intimidator fellas

enzo - thanks for the kind words man, it actually has 13k i just realized hahah but that is a deal i agree!

rocknss04 - now man that is awesome info! i would love to chat with you about some of the stuff you have done, some input from ya etc. . . i am kind of torn over the warranty, do the intimidators have any transmission trouble? i thought i read a few posts about the tranny dying after 45k miles or so... he's only got 13k (12,961) on him right now (see some pics on the page 1 of this thread, i have some from autotrader on there (yes that is my car, i didn't find it on there but by mistake... i located that after i got home). man, i am really floating right now... in less than 24 hrs he is gonna be parked right outside my place and i am probably just gonna be cruising allll night before that....

guys i really appreciate the warm welcome, i can't wait to join the community fully tomorrow when i go pick him up and bring him home. i am gonna post tons of pics tomorrow guys, be READY!!!!

one thing... if i could take please one second of everyone's time... PLEASE, should i purchase the warranty? i am torn, i have 13k miles on this bad boy and it drove really well and i am confident there are no mechanical issues... i would really really really appreciate any input guys/gals... thanks!

sincerely,
Mikhail

Welcome, beautiful car

How long is the warranty and what does it cover in detail?

Honestly the engine, I doubt anything is going to happen to it. The wheel hubs are known for going bad (~$300 fix at dealer/hub that goes bad) the intermediate steering shaft (~$180 dealer, free fix available for yourself), The transmissions do go bad, but really that only happens with high mileage and how you drive it.

Then you have to talk to the dealer, because you are going to want to Mod this car (a lot) especially if you read this website haha. If you start to do that, will they void the warranty?

Maybe they sold it to some one else or something and they don't want to tell you the truth... Depending upon the distance. I'd go drive there and talk to some one.
