I have 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo 3.1 that has new battery and bench tested GOOD alternator and suddenly on a drive I loose charging and get no charge out of working alternator. Any suggestion where I start looking.
Maybe there is something in this thread that may help --->click https://montecarloforum.com/forum/ne...light=charging

Sorry that link did not hit on your issue
Make sure you check all your grounds.
It seems with a lot of the electrical problems, it IS a ground issue that is the root of the problem.

Welcome to the forum, and definitely check the battery wires, for corrosion as well as all wires connected to the alternator, if there has been a lot of moisture in your area this may also be the cause, and there is a chance, the alternator decided to just quit unfortunately, there should be a regulator on the alternator that may have gone bad, the alternator could have a weak diode and not allowing it give the full 14 amps that is required, if you can have it bench tested. It could also be the battery itself not accepting the charge even though you have a new battery there is a small chance it could be defective, but it would lean more towards the alternator not giving the proper amp output
