I LOVE my new car!
I'm sure you'll all agree with my sentiment, but I'm in love with my new car! After giving my old '98 Buick Skylark to my husband about 5 years ago to drive, I've been stuck in pick-up trucks. I didn't really complain until the Buick died and my hubby took his S10 back, leaving me in a old Chevy diesel. Don't get me wrong, I love that old thing, but it definitely lacks a sense of style, lol. I would amuse myself by trying to park it between the two most expensive vehicles I could find at work (my record is between a BMW and a Lexus).
I saved for a couple of years and was seriously considering a Mustang. Then the new Camaros came out. Then I realized my budget and my expectations were too far apart, lol. Well, if I wanted to make payments, I could get whatever, but I had decided to pay cash.
Started looking at Monte Carlos, which seemed few and far between in my area. I had a '85 Buick Regal years and years ago and really liked it, so the Monte Carlo seemed like a good fit. Drove an '01 SS and loved it. Had 55K miles, and it was decent enough but not real great. Mechanic checked it out and it was throwing transmission codes so we quickly bailed on that.
Kept looking and looking, widened my search on autotrader.com. Found one a couple of hours away in Illinois. Talked to the sales guy and even got him to take pics of any little blemishes and email them to me. Talked my husband into a road trip.
OMG, it was even better than I expected! Not surprisingly, I drove home in my new baby. I only bought it on Tuesday the 7th, but I LOVE it!
2001 Monte Carlo SS. Teal green. 58,700 miles. I'm the 2nd owner. It is VERY clean. Not sure what is standard and was is an option, but it has leather heated seats and those are nice! It has an after-market remote start and alarm system. And I'm getting the windows tinted next week.
No pics yet because I got caught in some snow on the way home and got her dirty.
