Howdy
Hello there everyone. I have been browsing around this forum since late last year, but have not posted much except to get a little help with issues I had with my Monte. I got my first Monte Carlo last year when a friend at work offered to sell his 95 Z34 for $1000 to me. I could not pass up the offer. I knew it needed some work and it was not running right, but as clean as the car was I had to grab it.
So I bought it last year and it sat in teh garage most of the winter because there was a power steering leak, needed a new starter, and basically it ran really rough. So 4 weeks ago I finally saved up and took it into the shop. Of course it needed a new starter, they fixed the power steering leak, and the reason it was running rough....the timing belt was broke. Ohhhh my loard was that an expensive fix. I took the car in planning to spend around $1500 and picked it up spending $2800. All I can say is when it was done the thing run like a brand new car.
I plan on some some restoration on it this summer. I jsut got the car back last week and I have already put a K&N air instake kit, new fog lights, blue headlights, put my 5000 watts stereo system in it, and I am just beginning. I have tons of things planned and priced to add to the car this year. Once we get a nice day here I will take a picture of the car to show everyone what I am taking about here. Then I plan on taking pictures throughout the summer to show its progress.
I am looking foward to being an active member in these forums and this looks like great community.
EDIT: I finally got a nice day around here and added some pictures for everyone to see.

RE: Howdy
hey, welcome to the site
sounds like you got a good deal on the monte, and even with all the fixes, you still only have 4 grand into the car...sounds great for that car...
lookin forward to some pics, and posts

RE: Howdy
Thanks for all the great comments. I guess you can call these the "before" pictures. By the end of summer I should have the "after" pictures since I plan on doing ALOT to the car this summer.
I have to admit for my first Monte Carlo, this this is ALOT faster than I thought it would be. Wow these Z34 engines put out some horsepower for a V6.
