If you have a supercharged SS with the 3800 series II V6, then you should be getting to 60 in 6.6 seconds.
If it is taking you 10 seconds to get to 60mph, then you either need a new stopwatch or areally goodtune-up. The 04 supercharged SS is much faster than that.

I personally would let the dealer do it. I had a 2000 GTP with the same engine (3800 Series II V6 Supercharded) and it said no tune up needed until 100,000 miles. Well I let the local garage do it, didn't feel any change in performance and 6-months later when my GTP almost died on me the dealer said I need a tune up. I said I just got one from the local garage! The dealer couldn't even tell. I ended up trading it for my SS but I would let the dealer tune it up. My Pontiac dealer wanted somewhere beteween $600 to $700 to tune it up and the local garage only charged $250. You get what you pay for.

when we say tune up what exactly are we talking about because im thinking its only going to be 1) spark plugs 2) wires and oil change is that it or are there more things?

Depending on the miles I would go with air filter change, spark plugs (AC Delco), wires, and fuel filter.

Hi Larry,
Get it tuned and take it to the track.
Take pictures and post your times. Thanks
I found the below test of a 3.8 SuperCharged 240 HP Monte Carlohttps://www.neodata.com/hfmus/cdri/print_subs.shtml]Obviously, the biggest upgrade is what lurks under the hood—a Supercharged version of GM’s 3800 Series II pushrod V-6, which makes 240 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 280 pound-feet of torque at 3600 and is paired with a beefier four-speed auto. Compared with the standard SS, that’s an upgrade of 40 horsepower and 55 pound-feet.At the track, the Monte’s newfound power and chassis enhancements were evident. We ripped off 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and the quarter-mile in 15.1 at 93 mph, 2.1 and 1.5 seconds quicker, respectively, than the numbers put up by a standard SS 3.8(“Low-Impact Sports,” September 2002). I would suggest doing some homework to find the right professional to tune your Monte. Below is a link to many speed shops in your area.
I would call and ask if they have ever tuned a SC Monte and if not,
who they would recommend. Good Luck
