Default HI EVERYBODY!

Hi everybody! Just joined the forum and wanted make a post. I've had my 04 LS for a few years now and definitely like the look of the car, just wish I has the SS power. Oh well. You guys definitely have some sweet montes here. My biggest complaints about mineother than mine being slow (im never satisfied) is the handling on the LS is crappy and the water pump and intake gaskets started leaking before 40k miles (30k warr!). So I handled the waterpump (3.4 doesnt get any easier or cheaper) and threw some GMpellets I got from a caddilac dealer in the radiator to combat the very minor intake leak, so far no probems at 44k. Now a question. Does the SS have any differences in suspension and braking (rotorsize, springheight, strutbrace, swaybar diameter) compared to the LS? I would like to get a little better cornering from this car using recycled SS parts. I'm not trying to make it faster only handle the modest speed it produces now without dumping too much $$ in it. Any input is appreciated, thank you!

WELCOME! The SS suspension definitely corners and handles better, but the ride is a lot more harsh. I hope someone posts are more technical reply for you.

Welcome to the site! I have an 03 SS and I think it has an awesome ride - not too harsh and not too spongy. I wonder if the LS and SS have different sway bars? If so they could probably be swapped out.

Thanks for the welcomes! I discovered that the springs, struts, rotors, and sway bar linksfor the LS and SS share the same part #'s. This is from the local advance auto parts website. They had no info on sway bar diameter but after looking at the part#'s it occured to me that I'mnot sure if mine evenhas a rear sway bar since its an LS. I'll hafta check later. Might be why itcorners like an 84 instead of an 04.

Thanks again, heres one pic its2 yrsold, not great, but its 10 degrees below zero outside right now I dont think my camera will even work. The car looks exactly the same now as it did when i bought it. Kuz I keeps it clean! Plans include any SS suspension/steering upgrades, leather seats from a grand prix (I think they look/feel nicer than the monte ones), nicer larger wheels, no stereo upgrades maybe add a sub, SS dual exhaust, fog lightsand maybe lower it an inch. I really do not expect to make much power from the 3.4L but I do expect it to last awhile. Maybe in the distant future a gto or firebird floor pan, suspensionanddrivetrain would be fun (and expensive). Right now its pretty much stock except for: 10K HID low beams from an infinity, stainless exhaust tip welded to the stock tail pipe, all synthetic fluids, flushed out dex cool crap and put the gm badges on the side that the newer ones come with. Still havent checked for a rear sway bar, its too @#$%'n cold!
