Default Hi all

Long time Monte lover, first time owner. I've had my 2006 Monte LT since 3/07, and I'm sad to say, I'm not impressed

If you look up a list of known problems with the 06 Monte/Impala, my car has had them all... Remote/tire monitor problems, power steering pump/lines, low coolant for no reason. On top of that, I had a tie rod end go out at 35K, and the front wheel bearings are f'd now at 47K. Also had to replace the battery about 5K ago. [:@] Mileage is also not that great at around 22-24.

Hi Krista S,
and Welcome to the Monte Carlo Family Forum.
I was sorry to read that you are one of the few that
has problems with your Monte Carlo : (
Unfortunately, there are lemon's from all auto companies.
(some, more then others)
It seems like you may have purchased one.
Did you try to use your state's lemon laws forrecourse ?
Were must problems covered under your GM Warranty ?
Can I ask your reason for joining the MCF ?
Was it for `help, or just to vent, & let us know what
problems that you have encountered ?
Is there anyway that we can `help you ?
I do hope that your problems have been resolved, and
I wish you safe/happy/care-free miles in your 07 Monte LT.
Good Luck, from `Space

Fortunately, the dealer I've been going to has gotten most of the repairs covered by warranty, despite the mileage at the time of some of them. I did have to pay for the battery. I haven' taken it in yet for the bearings, got the diagnosis when I had new tires put on.

I have read some of the threads here each time I've had problems, as well as searching the TSB pages. I've been really frustrated with my car lately, and it really looks like everyone in here loves their Monte. I guess I just wanted to vent. [&o]

As for the Lemon Laws... I bought the car in Kansas when it was a year old, and the LL there is only for the original owner for 1 year from date of purchase. Now I live in MN, and I think it only works for cars purchased new. It also looked like you have to have it in the shop 10 times in a year, or 5 times for the same problem?? I didn't look that up today, but seems like that's what I found before. Anyway, it was only in the shop 5 times in the last year, twice for one problem.

Sorry for spewing my frustration.

Welcome. Gas mileage between 20-24 in city is quite good acutally for a big heavy car like the Monte. Are you driving highway or city miles? I'm getting alittle over 20mpg in bad city driving and I'm extreamly happy about it.

Hi Krista S,
Did you ever have a CarFax report on your Monte Carlo.
Since you didn't buy it new, it could have been a
used rental car that was abused : (
Oh, some states do have Used Car Lemon Laws
I was happy to read that your dealer assisted you on
resolving some of your problems.
Batteries, go back for everyone : (
and yours wasn't that old.
I hope that everything can be repaired, and that you
can enjoy your Monte Carlo experience with few problems.
If we can `help, we sure will try.

Wish you better luck and safe miles,
