Hi,I just purchased a 1998 Monte Carlo ls with 3.1 and 98000 miles.I wanted to know how to tell what options are on the car,like security,etc.Any helpappreciated .thanks.Lou

welcome the the forum lou. do you have any pics of your monte?

as for figuring out options its pretty simple for an LS because there were only interior and exterior options available.

exterior would be alloy wheels or hubcaps, and a rear spoiler ( there were 3 available to my knowlage) or none. and of course color.

then for the interior would be color ( charcoal gray, tan or light gray) with cloth or leather seats. another big interior option would be having buckets & a center console instead of a bench seat / colum shift. others would be a CD player or a tape deck, dual-zone climate control, and a trunk organizer net.

im sure im missing some but that should give you a basic idea

 

welcome to the forum. If you look in your trunk you will see the GM codes there. Someone correct me if it's not in the trunk, it's been a while since i had a 5th gen lol

thanks for the kind words.As for options I have the spoiler, bucket seats,cd player but I wanted to know if I had remote door locks.I purchased a remote off ebay and the instructions say there is a receiver on pass side in trunk but mine doesn,t have one so If any one needs an extra I have one to sell! Also the plastic on the edge of the hood is broken in 2 and I haven,t been able to find one.any help appreciated.
