Default hey from the motor city

well close enough to detroit,mi
unfortunately dont have a monty yet but hopefully i will have one soon since i have no car anymore.
looking for a 06 or 07 ss in red or black with a black interior.if anybody knows of one around here let me know.


anyone know how much power this trans can hold?
300hp wont be enough

hey captindamnit you should stop by newton,ia june 5th for the hot rod power tour,there are always nice cars to look at.
were are taking a 07 solstice with a 427 and a 72 chevelle with supercharged 454 lsx

p.s. the solstice is a bad a** daily driver 20mpg and able to roast tires at 50mph

Welcome to the forum. The 4T65E tranny is good for right around 300 HP. The 06/07 SS Monte pretty much comes from the factory with the transmission working at its max potential. If you want a lot more power from the car, you are going to need to think about saving for the transmission too, and upgrading that.

that could be a problem. i was going to shoot for around 550hp.it has to at least compete with our little pontiac

Well you can do it, but there is no way the stock tranny will support that much power. But if you build the tranny to withstand the power, you'll be fine.

go to this website, they have a lot of good information on the 4T65E transmission.

TEP is the best spot to go for Transmissions (IMO)

Going for the LS4 turbo kit??

it will be na still.
i work at a place called Thomson automotive we specialize in performance gen 3 chevys but can build anything you can think of, and some you cant.
