Hi so I've been reading around these forums and pretty much any and every site I can gain information on the 2005 Monte LS V6 3.4L. Im actually leaving within an hour or so to check out the car in person at the dealership. The miles are 96K for $6k offered but will try to negotiate. Car look like it was maintained and has a clean title. So up until last night I started to get hesitant as I was reading about the known nylon gasket issues on the 3.4L engines.


So my main question is should I go through with the purchase and if so what can be done to prevent this from happening if possible. I spoke to the dealership letting them know I am aware of this and if it has been checked out recently. He said everything was checked out last week in good working condition. I will be using it a my daily driver. I understand repairing cost for head gasket can be very expensive, which is why I ask you all who have Montes, and is something I must avoid. I already love the car but I don't want to get it if it will just be a money pit. Any help appreciated Asap. Thank you.


Also what would be a better choice 2005 ls 96k or 2003 ss 83k, what would you choose.
