Default Help!

I have a 2007 Chevy Monte Carlo LT. Tonight, I noticed the digital temperature reading for outside quit working. Then I tried my heat & there was no power to the heating/cooling controls. I think it may be the body control module... has anyone had this happen to them? Or does anyone know what the problem is? I would appreciate any help.

Did it quit working all together or is it giving a false reading?
Could be a bad ambient air temperature sensor (AATS). It works in conjunction with the HVAC control module and BCM. Could also be a bad HVAC control module or IAT sensor. When the AATS fails the DIC will display 86oC(186oF) if shorted to ground, or -40oC(-40oF) if shorted to voltage. The display can be reset by pressing the A/C and recirc. buttons on the HVAC control module simultaneously, but it will likely eventually revert to the same false reading as before if the sensor is bad. The sensor is mounted on the radiator support, driver side just under the shroud.
Check out this post from another member that corrected the problem by replacing the IAT sensor: https://montecarloforum.com/forum/mo...roblems-50939/

plumbob...Thanks! I have a Haynes book on 2006-2007 Monte Carlo, but it doesn't list anything. In your reply you asked if it totally quit... yes it did. Where is the HVAC control module located? Thanks again for the reply!

You might want to check fuses and relays if you have no display at all.
The HVAC control module is the unit in the middle of the dash where you control the HVAC settings, right below the radio.
