Default Hello! New Memeber here!

Hey everyone, new here at the monte forums. i dont own a monte carlo but i have a close friend who has a 2000 monte carlo ss and is planing to mod it, so im just helping her out. i drive a 2007 Cobalt SS and am a avide member over at cobaltss.net

What im wondering is how hard it would be to take a m90 supercharger (off of the gtp/montess) and slap it onto the 2000 MCSS? i know you would need a new intake mani and im sure lower the compression..anything else needed? also what about just bolt ons? any information would help!

heres a few pics of my cobalt ss:

Hi and welcome to the site.
Nice car. I was glad that GM finally did an SS version of the Cobalt, to directly take on the Honda's and such. As for your question, I'm sure you'll get an answer later today, once all the gear heads wake up.

Thanks for the great welcome! to answer some questions no my cobalt ss is not supercharged, i couldnt afford it haha
it has a 2.4L ecotec engine running 173 hp 165 tq stock
i have added a KN Short-ram typhoon intake adding roughly 16 horsepower
this summer i ran the 1/4 mile stock in a amazing new 2.4L cobalt stock record at 15.46 and 86 MPH

my future plans for my coby consist of short shifter, header/dp/tune and if i get some more funds a m65 supercharger or garret gt28 turbo

thanks again for the big welcome guys/gals of mcf!

It's not impossible, but LOTS of work. Place to start is ZZPerformance.com, cause they make an adapter manifold. The higher compression makes more power, so that's a bonus! The fuel pump and lines also have to be changed, along with beefing the trans to the HD and the heavy axles, not to mention the fuel rails, pulleys, etc, etc, etc. But that's the basics.

yeah from the get go i knew it was going to be a hard project, not to mention the tuning involved...i think its best just to do some bolt ons and see where that takes us
