Default hello everybody new monte carlo driver

hey guys just picked up a monte carlo. an 1986 to be exact. I paid $1400 for it. Has a 350 but head gaskets need to be replaced. And did not have heater hoses connected. did not over heat. Body is in good condition minor rust on driver side lower door panel. Some surface rust in few spots can be sanded out. interior is all new upholstery. but door panels were just painted black. under carriage looks decent not rotted nowhere. Rust in wheel wells. The emblems are faded. but i am able to do most of this work myself. Gaskets i will replace with felpros.

So does anybody think i over paid for this bad boy.????

Welcome to the Monte Carlo Family

So does anybody think i over paid for this bad boy.????

I will let you know once I see `it & drive it...
What's more important is that you don't think your paid to much for your Monte

Sounds like it just needs some TLC & it's great to read that you will be able to most of the work yourself.

Look forward to seeing pictures & reading more about it...Good Luck

Welcome to the site. Sounds like a nice project car. Replacing the head gaskets is a pretty easy job. If i were you I would send the heads out for a little work while they are off. It also may be a good time to freshen up the top end of the motor. Can't wait to see pics, post some when you can
