Hello from Charlotte, NC
Hi all! My name is Mark and I have owned a Monte Carlo since 1982. My first one was a 1977 that I had 4 different engines in. I liked to hot rod and drag race it so it went through many incarnations. The last engine was a 402 out of a '72 Suburban that I rebuilt and put some performance parts in. I hated to say goodbye to that car but by 1993 it had rusted so badly that I had to junk it, so I pulled the 402 out and stuffed it into a '70 that I found and I am still the owner of that one. It is in need of some slight rust repair, paint, and interior and I finally have a little extra money to try and make her right again. A family of 4 kids has kept me from paying attention to her and she has been neglected for a couple of years. So I am going to get her running again and try and doing a minor restoration. When the kids are finally out of the house I'll probably do an off the frame, but until then I don't want to neglect her any more. So I am here for ideas, support, or to help others if I can. I'll get some pics of her and my '77 up when I have more time. I also own a cousin to the Monte Carlo, an '86 Grand Prix with T-tops. I have plans to do a minor restore on it too so one of my boys can drive it. Talk at ya'll later!
