Default Hello All from Iowa !!

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jim, andI just bought a 2006 Monte Carlo LT with the 3.9 liter engine,leather,17 inch wheels, power everything. I traded in my 2004 Focus ZX3 for the Monte. The Focus was a great car, but this is so much more car I can't believe it. The power of the 3.9 is really something when you're used to a 150hp 4 cylinder.
I hope to be an active member, and look forward to learning all I can from the knowledgeable people on this board.

Thanks for having me !!
Jim

I really like the way it changes color under the street lights.

Welcome to MCF. You will find that this is THE friendliest site on the web for Monte Carlo Help.

Although there are not a whole lot of performance upgrades available for your vehicles yet, soon enough there will be!

Take care!!

Jim--- First of all welcome! Great to have another Iowan, and another 3.9 owneron the forum!( you must have the 3 LT package, LTZ's I think all got the moonroof )

I also, (as you can see in my sig) own a silverstone metallic 2006 3LT. You are correct! The 3.9L (code LZ9)engine suprises me day in and day out with it's great power in a light, and sufficient gas consumption. Don't get me wrong, she's no lightweight at 24 MPG average, but still beats the heck out of any V8 out there for power per pound and gas consumption.

If you're looking to mod, there's no better source I've found than MCF...

My first mod was a sound system with sattelite radio (external unit, for now)

Second was Weathertec vent visors (no pics of those yet)

Third, and my favorite so far was flipping the engine mounts. She puts a lot more power to the ground now... (in the package of long black stripes)

Thanks to all for the warm replies. To the fellow Iowans, I am located in Des Moines. Assuming you guys had your Montes last winter, how do these things go in the snow?
