Greetings from North Syracuse, NY, USA ...
I am the proud owner of a:
2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS.
Superior Blue (metallic) - & I enjoy wiping it with a cotton diaper ...
42,000 miles. (Still rollin' on the original GoodYear Eagle RS-A's & mint condition factory rims ...)
As far as exterior mods go:
I have replaced the low- & high-beam 9005s & 9006s with Philips HIR 9011s (55W) & 9012s (65W), along with the 880 fog lamps with Philips 899s.
These particular 9011s & 9012s are marked "HIR1+2", & were in the lot that were made in Germany.
Obviously the 9011s & 9012s had to be slightly modded to fit. As for the fog lamps, the switch to 899s from original 880s was as simple as switching out the fixtures; thus raising each lamp wattage from 27W to 37.5W.
I have also replaced the rest of the body lights with LEDs; I especially like the decision I made to use blue LEDs (194s) on the side of the rear lens cluster ... it creates a nice purple-ish glow with the blue light & the deep red of the lens/reflector.
Other than the lighting changes/mods, I really have not done much more to the exterior, ... though next Thursday I will be getting it pinstriped & lettered by a local, free-hand artist. But this will not be any run-of-the-mill pinstriping, & will be rather low-key ... (Photos definitely to come!!!)
I am currently putting together the final pieces of an audio system that I will install myself. (I have always installed the stereos in my personal vehicles, ... & some friends'.) I need only to make a final decision on a double-DIN CD receiver head unit, & component speakers (either 6.5" or 6.75") for the doors. (Ideas?!)
I would love to know if any of you are in the Central New York area, etc., & definitely welcome your comments, opinions, etc., on what I have done, or what I should not do in the future. I assure every one of you that I am the farthest thing from a snob, & can take the bad right in stride along with the good.
Be well,
Zeke

PS: For starters, here is my 1st question: What is my best solution for combating "hyper flashing"? You know ... the cute little phenomena that usually happens when you switch out LEDs for the age-old, dull incandescent bulbs. I have been looking around at relays, flashers, capacitors, etc. It appears (maybe) that this can all be solved with an electronic flasher swap - swap it with the factory one that resides behind the 4-Way hazard button above the ignition in the dash ... Yes? No?

Thank you for the "Welcome", lougreen03 ...
Nonetheless, the diaper comment was nothing more than a semi-sarcastic comment about me treating the surface of my SS like I would treat a baby's bottom ... with nothing but the softest of things. =)
