This is what I plan on doing at some point. There are a few around here that are pretty reasonably priced. So I'll probably do that and then sell the one with the surfboard. After I take the badges off and put them on the new trunk (if needed) of course.

And like everyone else has said, welcome to the forum. I don't like the surfboard spoiler either. So I know how you feel. I just need more money to do it first.

Yes they need the spoiler has to be there to cover up the bump. I would look for a trunk lid in the color you need but keep in mind depending on how well it was taken care of the paint may not match perfectly.

Lol, glad I'm not the only one who is sick to death about the surfboard on their trunk lid. I just went out to get one i found by chance. (6th Gen spoiler) The only prob with it is that its bright friggin' yellow and my Monte is black.. Needless to say its slow goings stripping it back to bare fiberglass before i mount it. I'll post pics as i get some stuff done.

On another note, I'm still in school.. my second semester now. Doing well so far i think. I cant wait for summer to come and go so i can get back into classes.

Sorry it's been so long since my last posting but with school and all, i don't have a lot of time. Someone also tapped my passenger side quarter panel in the front since my last posting. I have to pull out the slight dent and replace the fog light bracket. Other than that, all has been good and i look forward to playing with the Monte some more soon.

It's an old thread anyway, no hard feelings.

I wouldn't know anything about spoilers. My baby, Catalina, is a 1st Gen. I think spoilers look ridiculous on 1st Gens. Anyone else?

I recently ordered the 2006 spoiler, which can be almost the pace car NASCAR-type spoiler however it bolts to the surfboard spoiler holes, which in turn saves me lots of money given that all I need to do is get the new spoiler painted to complement and I'm able to bolt it on my own.
