getting "Engine reduced power" message.
No I didn't ever fix it. Sold the junk and that's what I recommend doing as far as the money pit car goes. I dumped little over 1k in parts and nothing was fixed. Battery. Tps ecm. 2 throttle sensors and a tune up and oil sending unit. Good luck
I went with a new T/B and that was not the fix. Took it to the dealers this week and they said it was the ECM , supposed to pick the car up today so will see if that was the fix. Thanks for the reply.
I'm joining the club having the same issue... I got this car in March of 2011 haven't had a transmission hold up a year yet...recently replaced transmission (this is the 5th) now gettin a reduced engine message. Car runs fine while wires to transmission isn't connected as soon as I connect and put in gear start missing. Do ecm need to be reprogrammed since transmission was swapped?!?
I have an 06' Monte Carloand I know absolutely nothing about cars so whenI have an 06' Monte i started my car about 3 weeks ago and it turned back off it freaked me out. I checked the oil and tried to turn it on again gave it a little gas while turning it on and it was good to go. Yesterday i was driving on the interstate my car showed the message service traction control and then the message Engine power Reduced. I went to Autozone and they gave me the following codes: P0121, P0446, P1811, P0106, P1516, C0242 and P2135. What do all of these codes mean?
I just had that happen to me yesterday. I called my dealer and he can't look at until Monday but he said it could be the recent cold and wet weather made something inside the car not want to work. I was parked outside for about 5 hours yesterday and it was on the drive home that it happened, within a minute of starting the car. I'll see if I can drive it over the weekend and post what I find out when I take it in on Monday.
