After passing over several over the years I added a super nice 2003 SS. I stumbled upon this forum looking for a SLP or TS style front grille. I have a handful of nice early late model Chevrolet's and this SS sure fits right in with my pristine Indy Beretta, ''88 Beretta GT and '87 Z24 Hatchback. Looking forward to gaining some insight on these cars. I am a mechanic and body man so any quick tips or if someone has a SLP or TS grille or a custom guide to making one please let me know.
Welcome to MCF! I used to have an '03SS and loved that car. It got totaled with only 33K on the clock. Now I have what you see in the photo below... Throw up some pics of your new ride (as well as the others, too!) when you can!
Welcome to the MCForum
I am in the process of making one got a little way with it need some dedicated time away from the normal maintenance of the house and other stuff to get it completed.
Cool collection.. Would love to see them. Welcome.
The grill thing, good luck man. Everyone and their mother wants one. I think anymore when they come up, they go for hundreds of dollars. Well, they dont really come up for sale. People just get offered an extravagant amount of money that they cannot turn down.
The topic of custom making or 3D printing has come up a few times. Initial copies (to make a copies of) are several thousand if I remember correctly.
My strategy (well what I plan to do) is wait until I find some random person with a TS car and offer them a couple hundred to pull it off. Lol, well see if that ever happens.

Welcome to the forum, nice to have another car freak drop in. We need someone to razz, so yeah you are it. WTH, you fall in love at first sight with a 6th gen? You are a crazy one for sure, you have to be strong to hold on to it. I mean you ever get in a relationship where the significant other is a negative to the paycheck instead of at least zeroing out? But they are to dang beautiful to kick to the curb, so you put up with their shenanigan's. That is very similar to be a late model Monte owner. They suck you dry and if you really love it you endure the pain. Until one day it can be to much for some owners and they take a 10lb hammer and beat the **** out of their car, a kind of payback . Anyone who says they don't harbor that thought is a dang liar. And the few of us left, well we cant do that because they are so good looking that we succumb to our metal spouse and keep paying out year after year to her. See so we are all crazy here, what's left of us. Lets see if you become smitten with your Montes sweet looks or are easily discouraged, look for your coat and run out the door to get away from the bitch.
So why the hunt for the SLP grille? How did you even know about them? There are 2 people here on the forum that have a brand new one tucked away.. But to me you would really have to be a hard core Monte person in for the long haul to spend a scary amount of money for that particular grille. You have big appearance plans or keep it stock looking?

I just love the look. I got offered one but I don't want one 600.00 bad. Really dislike the oem emblem. I may take it off and put an SS Badge on it. I'll get some pics up. Doing a full paint restoration on the Monte right now. As soon as it's down pics will be up 👍
Finally got some pics of my SS. Besides the SLP grille I'm also looking for a set of High Sport Rocker Moldings and front and rear bumper extensions. I'm located in southeast Ohio. I may have solved the SLP grille issue. I've found a grille overlay from a Toyota that looks identical. My buddy is a parts mgr. at a Toyota Dealership and he said today he found one that looks almost identical. Fingers crossed.
