Cool Finally got around to making a post.

Hello all

I am the proud owner of a 2001 Monte Carlo SS which I have owned since Fall 2009. She currently sits at 140k and I have been in the process of doing a L67 top swap, along with some other supporting mods.

Here she is after having received a (somewhat cheap) paint job and dent repair. I took advantage of this opportunity and also swapped the spoiler out from a 2006 SS. I believe these spoilers look MUCH better on the car. The trim piece on the quarter panel has since been replaced. These photos were taken about 1 year ago.





Along with the top swap I would like to get a more appealing set of wheels, and restore the headlights as they are very badly oxidized. She also needs some brakes and the suspension could use some freshening up as the suspension is all original.

If you manage to get them restored please share how you went about doing them. I have been working on mine for about a year and have tried just about everything known to man to get them back to somewhat clear.

Well my plan is to wetsand them as described in one of ChrisFix's videos, and protect it with hopefully a quality clearcoat.

I did the same as you did. Hopefully it turns out better than it did for me. The clearcoat has kept it clear but it's not worth keeping the headlights for me.

The lens is clear but it has a rough texture on it that I was unable to get rid of even after wet sanding. It helped visibility a little bit but I'm still going to get new headlights at some point.

That's not too bad, I could deal with it being rough as long as it looks clear!

clear is the goal on headlights
I know I will want a new one tomorrow when new bumper is on
it will be noticeable
