That's a lot of labor. The frame has to be lowered or engine/trans pulled out to access that transmission side cover. If I had to guess, as cheap as $500 if you find a good deal... I'd imagine $1,000+ at a shop, but I am definitely not current on what mechanics charge.

I 100% agree. Youll see a pretty broad range of pricing on this depending on labor rates (small ma and pop shop or something like a dealer) and the approach they quote (cradle lowering vs full removal). But Id bet you'll be right around where nitehawk mentioned.

I will say, if you decide to go with a place that pulls it all the way out and the trasnsmision has 100k+, I'd strongly consider a rebuild. You're already paying a bulk of the labor for R&R; youre not going to be that much deeper for all new electronics and clutches.

I could be wrong but I thought there were a few people that have mentioned changing the solenoids from the wheel well. No?

EDIT: Found a video where a guy changes the shift solenoids from the wheel well. Not the same thing as pressure control solenoids?

Thats what we were talking about by dropping the cradle. They're under the side cover, and I don't think you can get that side cover off with powertain in the factory position.

Ok wasnt sure but I found that video I was talking about. He actually dropped one side of the cradle, I was mistaken.
