Elvira
Hi fellow SS owners
I'm a new member just trying this out.
My ride is a 05 Monte Carlo SS. Her name is Elvira.
3.8L S/C.
I have owned her since Jan 05 and have racked up a whopping 4,000 mile. ( 11 miles when I bought her)
I'm trying to find out how many GM built like her but no one seems to be able to tell me. Not even GM.
If anyone knows a way to find out please let me know.
Thanks

We all love to see them : )I've have bombed GM for production numbers onmodels, and had limited success.Check out the below link [:-]https://montecarloforum.com/m_17518/tm.htmWish you good luck with your Monte, and we look forward to your future posts.[:-]

I know quite a few people have inquired about that. And like SpaceRider said, we've all got little to no help from GM. It's almost as if they don't really care about numbers unless you ask about a signature series model.
I find it amazing that GM can tell you exactly how many 1959 Chevy's they made with a specific engine, red exterior, white interior, and if the shifter was on the tree or on the floor. But "How many black Monte Carlo's did you make in 2005?" seems to stump them. Go figure.
Your frustration is felt by many here.

Really? [sm=smiley25.gif]
That's weird cause 2 years earlier they're clueless. [sm=exactly.gif]

I think you may be right rj. GM may in fact be clueless that there was a 1959 Chevy.
But Dennis Gage on the show "My Classic Car" on Speed channel seems to get all kinds of build numbers for even the most rare cars. I'd like to know his sources.

Me too!!!
I can tell you how many say BelAir 2-door Hardtop were produced in 1957, or how many 210 4-door Sedans but far as how many had V8s or three-on-the-trees you're pretty much screwed here.
For many, MANY years it's been a debate on whether or not you could get a 4-speed on the floor in a '57 Chevy pass car? Some swear it was possible while there's no evidence to support the claim. Yes you could talk a dealer into installing a Vette 4-speed in a pass car for you but none were factory installed.
It's still not supported whether or not Chevy actually producted 92 windowed Sedan Deliveries in '57 or not? Just a rumor. One I'm guilty of passing along since I own one of these windowed Deliveries.
