Hey guys, after looking around this looks like the place for monte carlo's.

A little backround info on the car i purchased:

It's a 1998 z/34 full load and was purchased by my dad brand new. It was the first car i drove when i was 16, also the first car i crashed. I put it into a ditch backwards and ended up doing 3000$ in damage. Anyways up until 2002 my dad drove it. He sold it to a guy who blew the original motor after having it for two months. He replaced the motor (still 3800 but no supercharger) and my dad ended up buying it back. Now 2 weeks ago my dad decided to get himself a 07 SS trailblazer so i bought the car from him.

As far as backround on me i love chev's, and i especially love this car. Future plans include supercharging, headers and exhaust and some headlights i've seen on ebay.

Anyway here she is

Welcome from another Canadian. There are a number of Canadians on this site, including moderator Wiz Kidd.

Congrats on the car. Kinda bites that you lost the supercharger, but it's something you can add on when money permits.

won't be too long before i get it either. i had to get new tires before the snow starting flying so it set me back a little. Alberta winters suck. next week is getting my cruise control and alarm hooked back up (wasn't done when new motor was put in)

Hello, and welcome, fellow Canadian! Thats a nice Monte you've got there! Looks like its been well cared for. I know Canadian winters can be pretty harsh, so it can be pretty hard to keep the rust off the car. Hope you enjoy your stay here.
Cheers!

thanks for the warm welcome guys. and yea luckily they don't use salt to clear snow in alberta, but instead use sand. So instead of rust i get rock chips

A politician would call it "free sandblasting".

I've never experienced Alberta winter, but I've seen and heard about them.

I'm in Windsor, Ontario. A harsh winter snow consists of 15 centimeters (6 inches). But here, they're using a combination of sand and salt. First people complained that salt eats cars and contaminates the Detroit River (which our sewer system empties into) and the Great Lakes. Then public works complained the sand plugged up the sewer system. Go figure.

I know I heard that joke on either Just For Laughs or The Ha!ifax comedy festival. Was that from Rick Mercer?
